Hello.
I have a question about the number starting location in Section the concentrations in HYSPLIT. under what conditions can In this part enter the different heights with the same latitude and longitude? to simulate a nuclear accident that, there are various pollutants with different emission rate, can entered different heights in the number starting locationin in Section the concentrations ? or we can entered different heights in the number starting location When considered the same latitude and longitude and a pollutant with Constant emission rate ?
Please help me.
Thank you!

We are not sure what your question is really asking, but yes,you can specify multiple heights at the same location in the CONTROL file which creates vertical line sources. You can create multiple pollutants with different emission rates and at different heights by specifying multiple emission lines in the CONTROL file and specifying the release height of each emission. If you want to do time-varying emission rates, then you will need to use the EMITIMES file. See the following references for more details:

How to specify multiple species with different (constant) emission rates: C:/hysplit4/html/S311.htm

Re: number starting location in Section the concentrations
Hello.
I want to simulate a almost real event by model HYSPLIT. When a nuclear explosion occurs, During the 3 days, pollutants released into the environment with different emission rate. For example, in the first day, cesium release with emission rate of 20 becquerels per hour, in the second day with 10 Becquerel per hour and in the third day with 5 becquerels per hour. And for iodine and the other pollutants as well as emission rates is different in this 3 days. After the release of these pollutants in the environment, They will stop at different heights (height release). The amount of pollutants that stopped at any height is different. So we have at any height (height release) varying amounts of pollutants. How do I simulate the dispersion of pollutants in the accident in Section concentration HYSPLIT ?
Please help me.
Thank you

This is really a research issue and will require much thought on setting up the EMITIMES file and the CONTROL file. Although not exactly what you want to do, you could review our recent paper at:

Re: number starting location in Section the concentrations
Hello.
In the section the number starting location, if we enter different heights with same location. And then in the section pollutant, we enter different pollutants with different emission rate. After run and display contours concentration, the result is correct?
Do for software defined that share of each height (height release) is What percentage of the pollutants emitted from the reactor?
Thank you!

Re: number starting location in Section the concentrations
All the pollutants defined in the pollutant section will be released at all the heights you defined in the number of starting heights section, unless you use the EMITIMES file and define at what level and time each pollutant is released.
When you view the concentration results in the PC GUI, you need to check the appropriate button to plot either "All" the pollutants, or each individual pollutant. If you select "All", it will sum all the pollutants and plot the total concentration.

grid to station
Hello!
in HYSPLIT at the concentration - utilities - grid to station, For having a graph of Concentration versus time for a city, must enter the latitude and longitude of the city. Are these concentrations and Plotted graph is really related to the city or it relate to a point on representing of the city? Can we say the concentration versus time graph for the city Not to a specific point in the city?
Thank you!
