Automatic download

Post by Jesse » July 11th, 2019, 10:06 am

I would like to know if it is possible to download automatically the Hysplit trajectories every 6 hours with dump meteorological data (i.e. mixed layer depth) for a long period.
Thanks!

It is possible to automatically run trajectories for a long time period using the "Run Daily" trajectory feature in the PC/Mac GUI after you download hysplit-compatible meteorology for the time period. See Section 6.1 Frequency Analysis in the Tutorial - https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT_Tutorials.php. Archived meteorology is described at https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/archives.php

Thanks for the answer. I downloaded the hysplit software, but I didn't find the procedure to add the Mixed Layer info to the daily run. Where could I set it?

Section 5.3 of the tutorial is about adding meteorology along the trajectory. Mixing depth is one of the available fields.
