the specific humidity along a trajectory

Post by gszywfc »

I am using HYSPLIT to do a backward trajectory analysis, but I didn't find any information about the specific humidity along the trajectory. Could you please tell me if this is possible? Thanks for your help.

In the PC version, first go to Advanced/Configuration Setup/Trajectory and select number (6), then check the Specific Humidity button and Save and Save again. The click on Trajectory/Setup Run and configure your trajectory. Click Save, then do Trajectory/Run Model and select "Run using SETUP file". This puts the Specific Humidity into the trajectory endpoints file in the right most column. You can then plot the specific humidity at the bottom of the trajectory plot by selecting Trajectory/DIsplay/Trajectory and select Meteo-varb as the Vertical Coordinate and then Execute Display.
