Mixing Depth Calculation

Post by Hossan »

Hello,
I have run HYSPLIT windows PC version and selected mixing depth as one of met output where I selected "use meteorological model" as mixing depth computation option. I have run 2 trajectories for the same time and location using NAM12km met data ftp://arlftp.arlhq.noaa.gov/pub/archives/nam12

In result, I see mixing depth is different for different trajectory height in exactly the same time and location (attached screenshot). Could you please help me to understand these?

Also, I tried to get mixing depth by using meteorology>>Display Data>>Text Profile (attached screenshot); But it seems like NAM12km data has only data at 3-hour interval. So, I could not able to get mixing depth for certain hours ( for example, 17060217 YYMMDDHH; In the attached screenshot, no data for 17060217). How HYSPLIT calculate mixing depth using meteorology model for these certain hours?
