dispersion from line source

Post by zeinabsalah »

Dear all,
How can define a line source in HYSPLIT to simulate dispersion from traffic emissions ?
is this option available in HYSPLIT?
Best regards,
Zeinab

A line source may be approximated using an emissions file. Please see the help file C:/hysplit4/html/S417.htm and the Tutorial section 16.5. https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/documents/Tu ... index.html. Section 16.5 is about vertical line sources, but the application for horizontal is analogous. Note the penguin and C:\ icons at the top on the tutorial page are links to linux and batch scripts, respectively that create the EMITIMES, CONTROL, and SETUP.CFG files.
