Dilution Factors

Post by Smaug »

To ensure that model outputs are giving dispersion factors you need to have a release rate of 1(1/hr) for an hour release. For a 2 hour release can you just change the release duration to 2 hours or do also have to half the release rate so it is 0.5? I guess the question also asks if you have to have a single unit mass released over the entire simulation or can you have more than one unit mass released to compute dispersion factors.

Unit release RATE is used to calculate the dilution factors. The released mass does not have to be unit mass. So a 2-hour release can be run with the unit rate for the two hours. If the release rates for the two hours are different, two different runs with unit release rate for each hour should be run separately.
