EMITIMES data
How we can obtain the data that is requierd in EMITIMES for wildfire smoke simulations?
Re: EMITIMES data
Hi,
There is no consensus solution for wildfire emissions, but you can utilize some of these data sets.
For wildfire detection location, many satellite based products are available such as HMS or MODIS to name two.

For detailed fire emissions, fire emission inventory (e.g. FINN, GFED, FEER, or GBBEPx ) can be used.

Also, you can use the HYSPLIT READY site with the prescribed fire option. If you know the location and time of the fire, Blue Sky emissions model still can generate an EMITIMES file for the location although you need to assume the area burned.
