How far back in time can I get a backtrajectory? I know it depends on which data set I used. However, is it possible to go back a month? Or even a year?

Yes, a back trajectory can go for as long as there is meteorological data available or else the trajectory goes off the meteorological grid or exits the top of the model domain.
