Questions about validity of HYSPLIT model generated data

For my research, I'm using HYSPLIT gdas1 files to generate mixing layer depth on certain areas. I'm given to understand HYSPLIT takes in certain data, run some model, and do some "nudging" to keep compliance with some observed real world data provided. And each run can give back abundant data about different parameters:"pressure","theta","air_temp","mixdepth","rela_humid"..."sun_flux".
However, i'm curious, in these parameters, which ones are model generated data and which ones are nudged real-world observation. Please let me know, I'm trying to figure out which ones are independent variables for my research. Thank you!

See the information about the ARL GDAS1 archive at https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/archives.php, in particular which fields are in the archived file.
