NOAA Staff,
Thanks so much for all the work you do with HYSPLIT and for its users! Is there a general road map of where you see HYSPLIT going in the next few years? If so, could you share a general summary? Thanks!!

Re: HYSPLIT Road Map
Thank you very much for your question. There are several research topics that the HYSPLIT team will be developing in the near future.
Among them I should mention the further development of the in-line coupling of HYSPLIT and WRF (http://www.arl.noaa.gov/WRF_inline.php), we will continue working on inverse modeling applications including forward and backward dispersion ( http://www.arl.noaa.gov/Inverse_mdl.php), and we will be studying new techniques to use in dispersion ensembles (http://www.ready.noaa.gov/READY_sref.php). In addition, we will continue adding new tracer data to our DATEM dataset so users will be able to test the model against more recent experiments.
