Hello everyone,
I am using HYSPLIT for my thesis. I couldn't find detailed information about the differences between model vertical velocity and isentropic options. Can you help? What are the assumptions of these methods?
Do you have any information other than the information on this site? : https://www.ready.noaa.gov/documents/Tu ... _vert.html
Vertical Velocity Options
Re: Vertical Velocity Options
These publications may give you some additional context for the different vertical velocity options.
As vertical velocity is now widely available from the meteorological models, this is the option that is utilized for most applications.

Re: Vertical Velocity Options
Thanks for the answer! I checked and used them in my thesis. I have another question . Are "model vertical velocity" and "kinematic method" and "three-dimensional method" the same? Unfortunately, I could not find any answer about it.
