zero wind speed problem

I am working with an area that has very calm winds. Inversions are common as well. I've attached an example of a 3 day inversion. The WRF27km interpolation of wind speed via the 'profile' file greatly over-estimates the 10m wind speed. Consequently, the accumulation and deposition are likely under-estimated. Is there a way that this can be mitigated in some manner? I understand that there is always some air movement but not to the extent that the WRF27km is interpolating it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
