Hi,

Another Mac user here. I ran into the same issue as kjmohr, but I was able to use the GUI without changing the "UNIX X-windows directory" in the directories menu (as suggested by aring) by entering a "Station File", and ignoring the "Station ID", "Latitude" and "Longitude" fields.
The ID/Lat/Long option doesn't seem to work neither from the GUI nor from the command line (tested on an M1 Pro, Hysplit v5.2.1, May 2022, registered version).

If not using the GUI, the command line arguments should be (for the smoke tutorial):

Code: Select all

con2stn -c1.0 -d0 -e0 -ismoke.bin -ocon2stn -p1 -r1 -s../tutorial/Tutorial/smoke/mayo_latlon.txt -xn -z1
where the argument

Code: Select all

-s<path/to/stationfile>
should point to the station file.
Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Karl

This issue of being unable to extract station data from user input affects Linux and macOs users. Windows users are not affected. The next HYSPLIT release will have the issue fixed.
