Yes- this is very helpful. The hycs_ens executable is not behaving as expected. I'm not sure why.
When you run the command that works can you send me the first few lines that it prints out. Should look like below
Ensemble error

Re: Ensemble error
Sorry, I had to break at unch today so I was unable to test these suggestions. Please let us know if you need additional user input. Yes, I am a PC user w/64-bit Win7 Pro. recall, I configured a faster (somewhat) Core i7 laptop during our lunch break yesterday. the only difference between my initial the Core i7 PC and the Initial Core i5 M560 2.67 GHz is the i7 was an OEM version of Win7 Pro. The older Core i5 was setup by me.

Re: Ensemble error
Thank you. It appears that there may be a problem with the hycs_ens executable for some people.
If you are following this thread because you got an error please try to run hycs_ens from the working directory as described below if you can.
1. open command prompt (search for terminal)
2. change directory to your working directory. (modify the following if your working and exec directories are in different places)
cd c:\hysplit\working
c:\hysplit\exec\hycs_ens
c:\hysplit\exec\hycs_ens 1
See below posts by sdeastham and let us know if your results do not match.
Thank you.
This may take some time to resolve but this executable is not needed for the rest of the workshop and is not widely used. We appreciate your feedback and help with resolving this issue!

Re: Ensemble error
Hi All. The hycs_ens executable was not compiled correctly in the unregistered version of HYSPLIT for PC. There is also an issue with the hysc_var and hycs_gem executables. We will make correctly compiled executables available to you soon.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: Ensemble error
Thank you for the swift diagnosis and response!
Re: Ensemble error
A new unregistered version is available from READY

You don't need the corrected executables for the exercises tomorrow.
