mixdepth - mixing depth (or mixing height, in meters)

Post by bobaufreisen »

Hi, I use the R package 'splitR' (https://github.com/rich-iannone/splitr) to retrieve backtrajectories with extended meteorological data. One parameter is mixdepth - mixing depth (or mixing height, in meters). I use met_type = 'reanalysis'. Is there anyone who could point me in the direction of how the mixing depth is calculated? As far as I understand, the R package is simply retrieving data from NOAA and not calculating any parameters internally. Any help would be appreciated.
