Meteorological Data Information

Hi everyone,

When ı figured out meteorological data information of captex2_narr.bin file, I little confused because of the vertical level data.
The data divided into 20 groups vertically but pressure values inconsistent with geopotential height values as illustrated in Fig.1.

I also wonder meanings of 7,11 and, 6 numbers as marked yellow in Fig1. I guess they are layer so as to 11 and 6 don't include TKEN(turbulent kinetic energy) values above the HPBL(Planetary boundary layer).

On the other hand, although the abbreviation of the meteorological values can be found easily respect to time, meanings of the following numbers cannot in Fig2.

Another issue in Fig2. height of the planetary boundary layer 67 m is really low for isn't it? These number was taken averagely, if not, how? I m looking forward to your answers.

The values you have circled in red and yellow are not the data values (HGTS or TKEN) but are chksum values. See in the HYSPLIT GUI, Meteorology / Display Data / Check File / Help and clicking the link “available” (or got to https://www.ready.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S130.htm and https://www.ready.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S141.htm)

The 50-byte label (header) shown in your Fig. 2 is described at the bottom of https://www.ready.noaa.gov/archives.php

It is solved by analyzing data, thanks for your help
