Concentration output from relative to absolute

Post by tschonholz »

Hi, I'm running HYSPLIT for volcanic ash scenarios and I was wondering if there was any way to change from relative concentrations (which is the actual output) to absolute concentrations and not relative to a unity of mass since VAAC tend to use this product output for forecasts and it would be useful to have that since airport operativity usually depends on absolute concentrations.
Thanks!!!

There is a relatively new interface on READY for volcanic ash simulations in which you can specify the actual source mass amount, and output concentration. See http://www.ready.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT_ash.php "(NEW) Compute archive volcanic ash concentrations".
