Grid definition

Post by paul »

Hello,

I'm trying to conduct an experiment for a local plume emission. I don't understand a bit about setting the number of vertical levels and their maximum height. I'm using GFS 0.25x0.25 archive data and my own input parameters are as follows: 100 m height of emission source and 1000 m top of model, one pollutant and no deposition. I've tried not entering any values of 'Num of vertical levels' and 'Height of levels (M AGL) in 'Definition Concentration Grid 1' and run as default, but anyway get an error in SIMULATION LOG as follows:

Model started ...
HYSPLIT - Initialization
HYSPLIT version: hysplit.v5.2.1
Last Changed Date: 2022-05-16
*ERROR* runset: Start height above mdl domain
Source - 1 Height - 100.0000
Model top ht - 1.000000
900

I would be eternally grateful for clearenfaying me this aspect!

It would help to see your CONTROL file.
From your error message it looks like you are setting the model top to 1 and not 1000, which is below your release height of 100m.

Please attach or copy your CONTROL file if you continue to have problems.
