HYSPLIT Forum: hysplitbbs.arl.noaa.gov

Hi there! I have recently installed HYSPLIT v5.1.0 for CentOS, and I am running through the tutorial using the bash scripts included in the Tutorial zip file. I have noticed some differences between my results and the results shown in the tutorial, though I am using the tutorial version that matches with the version of HYSPLIT that I installed. I have attached my results (wildfire smoke results, titled ### ./cust_smoke.sh ###) and the tutorial results (wildfire smoke tut) for the wildfire smoke tutorial simulation. Can anyone let me know what causes this? Thanks!

Some differences in dispersion runs are expected because of differences in the random number generation.
