Deposition output analysis

Post by sol »

Dear HYSPLIT User and staff.

I run HYSPLIT model with 12 hour interval meteorological data. siulation duration is 4days. Model was perfectly run and i got 9 results.

here is question.

Does each HYSPLIT results means 12 hours accumulated concentration? or does it mean average concentration of each hour?

For example, if I set 12 hours interval and 1 days of simulation duration, Does results which indicate concentration of 0 until 12hours means average of value for each hour in from 0 until 12hour or accumulated value from 0 until 12 hour?

It is same question with above. Does HYSPLIT results means 000 concentration unit/12hr or 000 concentration unit/1hr?

here is my conc file.

HYSPLIT output average concentration. According to your set up, the model writes out 12-hr average concentration.

Thank you for your kind reply.
According to your reply, if i got 120/m2 as HYSPLIT model result and i want to get a hourly deposition concentration, should i divide 120/m2 with 12hour?

I really need your reply.
Thank you in advanced.

For hourly averaged concentration, you can set the sampling interval to "00 01 00" in the CONTROL file. More detail about setting up the CONTROL for the simulation grid can be found in the user guide: https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S313.htm (bullet 25 is for sampling interval).

In addition, the HYSPLIT tutorial has a section about deposition: https://www.ready.noaa.gov/documents/Tu ... m_dry.html
