Clarification of Concentration values output from con2asc -c

Post by weatherman88 »

I have run Hysplit4 dispersion with say a few height level say 0, 5, 10, and 50m. I used the command con2asc to generate the concentration values in ascii. Does the 5m, 10m and 50m concentration level outputs refer to concentration averaged from 0 to 5m, 5m to 10m and 10m to 50m respectively?

Yes, assuming you are running the default particle (not puff) model. Please see the corresponding HELP information at https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S313.htm.

Note you are running at a much finer vertical resolution than is typical so you need more model computational particles. The model has not been evaluated against measurements at this vertical resolution.
