Error: Inputing HYSPLIT shapefiles into Arc GIS 10.1

I've been having troubles uploading Hysplit back trajectories into Arc GIS 10.1. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if Arc GIS 10.1 just does not work with HYSPLIT4 shapefiles.I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the direction of how to fix this bug if or if I could be pointed in the direction of a workshop or manual to figure out the problem.
