web back trajectory calculation stops at 72 hours

Post by pzuidema »

I would like to run back trajectories up to 200 hours through the ARL website.
I choose 1 source location, archived datafiles, a 'normal' trajectory, isentropic
coordinates....I'm trying to keep it simple but request a long run time. Any ideas
why it is terminating at 72 hours? it is not a forecast. Thanks so much for your time!

Reply back with the run ID number after you do a run and we can look at the results. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the job is already deleted. Please run it again and send us the CONTROL, SETUP and MESSAGE file to arl.webmaster@noaa.gov and we will take a look at it. Thanks.

I found the problem. I was using the Safari web interface. When I did this on Firefox HYSPLIT
ran as advertised.

This might be worth alerting other users to.

Best, Paquita
