Comparison between model results obtained three or more years later

Post by maiacalvello2 »

I run Hysplit trajectoy model in 2017 using GDAS 1 meteorological data for a location in South Italy for some days of summer 2012 and summer 2015.
I recalculated the same trajectories (same location and same days) using GDAS 1 data few days ago but I obtained different results especially for mixing layer height. What could be the reason? An update in meteorological dataset or model parameters?

The mixed layer depth is in the meteorology file, and the archives have not been changed. How much different are the trajectories?

As for the Mixed layer depth, in most cases I found very little differences, even if for few points the differences reached 35%.
Anyway your answer was useful because I mainly wanted to be sure that the archives were the same
