Hi!
I'm calculating backward trajectorys of different days in the year 2019 using GDAS (1 degree, global) data. Could i estimate the backward trajectorys errors (Meteorology and/or Computational) of them using the GDAS 0.5 degrees data? How would you proceed? If not, how would you do it?
Thanks!

Re: Backward trajectory error
The gdas0p5 would give some of the error - due to horizonal resolution, however we don't know the error in the gdas0p5. You need to know the real (observed) winds in order to know the error. You could compare model winds to some soundings over a long period of time and then estimate how that error could impact trajectories.
