Trajectories stop after 24 hours

Post by arl.noaa »

I have been trying to run hysplit archival forward trajectories with a start date of June 30, 2012. No matter what I do I cannot get the trajectory to run for more than 24 hours.

In order for us to diagnose the problem we need the CONTROL and SETUP.CFG files and the MESSAGE file if available. If running this on the website, send us the Job ID.

Hi,

I am trying to get my trajectories to start from the Sahara Desert region and end somewhere on the eastern shore of the North American Continent. I keep extending my hours, however the trajectory continues to stop around -30 longitude. The file name 319541.

Thanks!

Because you indicated to start new trajectories every 24 hours, the trajectories cannot be longer than 48 hours. You need to turn off the "Start a new trajectory every..." option and then you can run your trajectory for a longer period of time.
