Good morning,
We used the HYSPLIT Trajectory Model (Compute archive trajectories - Normal - GDAS 0.5 °- 3170 meters AGL) with the objective of analyzing the trajectories associated with the Nevado del Ruiz volcano (4° 53' 43' 'N 75° 19' 21''W) for different periods of the year 2015. However for the days 19 and 20 of February, the trajectories obtained showed a quite strange behavior.
We would like to know what these behaviors may be due to?

Re: Unusual trajectories in Colombia (Nevado del Ruíz Volcano)
Have you looked at the wind fields or height contours using the 2D plotting programs at https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/READYamet.php to see if the trajectories look plausible? The trajectory is just a computation using the wind fields. The GDAS0P5 is not available for plotting but the GDAS1 is. You can also look at trajectories starting at different hours/days to see if these trajectories look reasonable.

We will try to see what results we get.
