I know that each type of meteorological data (NAMS/EDAS, GDAS, NARR, NCEP/NCAR, etc.) has its set of pros and cons and that selection of a data set can depend greatly on the individual application. For general trajectory and dispersion runs/analysis in the confines of North America, is there a meteorological data source that seems to consistently perform better than others? Thanks in advance!!

We haven't compared results from these archived meteorology datasets. Generally speaking the finer resolution models should capture the smaller meteorological features. NARR (32 km) compared to EDAS (40 km) has the advantage of being a re-analysis.
