I have been varying the area of the emission source in the emission file (EMITIMES) from a point source to a very large area but that is not reflected in the display output. The KMZ display is determined by the set grid resolution, but the emission area is not displayed. Is that normal?

Could you be more specific about what you expect to see versus what you are seeing?
Can you attach a screenshot?
