Using paleo meteo grids

Post by NicoCosentino »

Hi!
I'd like to perform HYSPLIT trajectory and dispersion simulations using a meteorological derived from a paleoclimate simulation. I've checked CMIP6 data but the available time resolution for paleoclimate simulations is monthly at best. I would thus have to run my own simulation and save the data. I'd like to know generally if this is possible, for example, if I were to run a paleoclimate simulation with CESM2 for example, with 3-hourly resolution, and save the necessary variables, if I'd be able to turn that into a HYSPLIT-enabled meteo grid. I ask this because to the best of my knowledge, there are no published paleoclimate HYSPLIT simulations.

Thanks,
Nico
