Hello, as the title says, i get an error when trying to access archive, appended or forecast data from FTP server (except for forecast HTTPS Data NOMADS, which works sometimes). I installed hysplit and tcl (ARL pre-compiled Tcl/Tk 8.6 executable.) by unzipping it to C:\ directory.
After pressing FTP Data file it creates a file in the working directory, but then freezes and outputs this:

child process exited abnormally
child process exited abnormally

"exec $exec_dir/wget.exe --prefer-family=IPv4 --unlink --ftp-user=anonymous --ftp-password="${Password}" -O "$Fcst_path/$data_file" -o "$Fcst_path/..."

"if [catch {package require ftp} rcode] {
if [info exists input] {unset input}

(command bound to event)

Did anyone encounter this too? I am a registered user.

I am using HYSPLIT 5.3.0 on a Windows 11 laptop. For a check, I downloaded a GFS 1/4-deg file and saw no error. To diagnose the error you encountered, could you provide us with more details?

- Version of HYSPLIT
- Version of your Windows operating system
- Which meteorology file were you downloading

Thanks

Hello,
I am using November 2023 release (5.3.0 version), wish86t (8.6.2.8), Windows 11, any archived data. Tried it again to get GFS 0.25deg 3H for 2024 feb 10th. It freezes the GUI and after approx. 15 minutes it outputs the attached error:
