In reviewing the readme file for the new WRF 27km meteorological data, I ran across some fields that I'm not familiar with. I looked at readme files for other types of archived data and at READY Meteorological Field Descriptions (https://www.ready.noaa.gov/READYflddesc.php) and could not find descriptions and units for:
DIFR
MSFT
MSFU
MSFV
MUBA
MUPE
MUU0
MUV0
DIFT
DIFW
THET
Is there somewhere I can find these? Thanks in advance!!
Erik
WRF 27km meteorological fields
Re: WRF 27km meteorological fields
The description of WRF variables used in HYSPLIT is available in https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/data/web/mod ... rw2arl.pdf
DIFR, DIFT, and DIFW are the difference fields for greater precision for rain, tke, and vertical velocity.
Extra variables not listed in the technical note are for running the STILT feature in the HYSPLIT version 5:
https://www.arl.noaa.gov/hysplit/hysplit-model-updates/
https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/documents/Tu ... setup.html
They match to WRF variables as shown below=>
MSFT - MAPFAC_M
MSFU - MAPFAC_U
MSFV - MAPFAC_V
MUBA - MUB
MUPE - MU
MUU0 - MUU
MUV0 - MUV
THET - T
