Need help with GDAS half-degree data

Post by yalsubhi »

Hello there,

I have tried many times from different computers and different network to download the GDAS half-degree archive from the following link but I could not. This is the following: ftp://arlftp.arlhq.noaa.gov/pub/archives/gdas0p5/
Could you, please, help me in this? Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation on this matter.

Thanks,
Yazeed

Could you please provide more details on what occurs when you try to download the files?

Thanks so much Alicec. Actually it seems to me like there is an error and it takes too long time and says to me "the website does not response. Do you want to wait or cancel. Even if I wait, nothing happened. Please see the attachment. Thanks for your help.

Actually when I try to download these data, I’ll have page with numbers and symbols and there is not an option says (save) because I don’t get data from the previous link.

Try using WinSCP or similar application.

File protocol= FTP
Encryption = No encryption
Host name: arlftp.arlhq.noaa.gov
Check the box which says Anonymous login - that will fill in the User name and Password boxes.
(see below)
After you login, you should be able to drag the files from the ftp site to your local computer.
