Download size of meteorological data?

Could you tell me please what is the download size of the data required to run HYSPLIT ? Also are subsequent periodic or ad hoc downloads or updates required ?

The meteorological forecast data, which can be downloaded from NCEP at (for example, today):
ftp://ftp.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/c ... .20120826/
can range in size from 20 MB to 2.6GB depending on which data set you choose.
PC HYSPLIT is updated a few times per year and it is suggested that users upgrade to fix bugs and add new features. LINUX HYSPLIT is updated continuously and made available using SVN.
