Older GDAS data?

Post by arl.noaa »

Is there a place where I can ftp GDAS data file for year of 2000 to 2005? I could only find those from 2005 to 2011 in your /pub/archives.

Our 1 deg x 1 deg GDAS archive data began in Dec. 2004 -
ftp://arlftp.arlhq.noaa.gov/pub/archives/gdas1/

Prior to that, you could use our Re-analysis data, but it is 2.5 deg x
2.5 deg. See http://ready.arl.noaa.gov/archives.php.

We also have some global half-degree data at
ftp://arlftp.arlhq.noaa.gov/pub/archives/gdas0p5/ however these are
large files.

Any of these would be appropriate for a hemispheric scale.

As the original post explains, we do not have GDAS prior to Dec. 2004. You can use the Global Reanalysis data if needed, although it is coarser than the GDAS data.
