Creating emissions information for prescribed and wildfires

Post by egribbin »

When the tutorial for HYSPLIT covers the simulation of prescribed burns and wildfires, it mentions a way to create EMITIMES files (containing emissions information) with a utility based on the BlueSky modeling framework. Where can we find the tool for building EMITIMES files? Will it allow for multiple fire locations at one time? Thanks in advance for your help!

A tool to make the EMITIMES file is in the PC GUI under Advanced / Configuration Setup / Emissions File. See the HELP files there. Yes there can be more than one source location, but you probably need to make a basic CONTROL file with more than one source, then go into the Emissions File section The PC GUI does not include the BlueSky system.
