hi,
I am not able to access ftp://arlftp.arlhq.noaa.gov/archives/gdas1/ to download the trajectory.

Are you using a web browser? Web browsers removed supporting the ftp protocol. For Linux and Mac, the ftp command will work. For Windows PC, try a third-party ftp client such as FileZilla FTP Client, WinSCP, etc.
