Missing HRRR files on the ftp server?

Post by skavassalis »

This is probably a naive question, but it looks like the file hysplit.20180718.06z.hrrra is missing from the NOAA archive of hrrr.v1 data. Is there another location where these files are backed up so I could track a copy down?

Probably not. However, there might be an alternative. The README.TXT file for hrrr.v1 (https://www.ready.noaa.gov/data/archive ... README.TXT) has a note on how hysplit.20180312.06z.hrrra was replaced with 12-km NAM sigma-level file(s). Something similar could be done. Let me check with the HYSPLIT team.

The HYSPLIT team recommends to use an alternative data file to fill the data gap. You might want to consider using NAM for the gap.
