Converting from cdump to ASCII

Post by shanky »

Hi All,

As I have mentioned in my previous post about the cdump to ascii file conversion using HYSPLIT GUI and HYSPLIT Commandline tools ; which creates files with noticeable different sizes (Hysplit GUI creates cdump.txt of 290MB and command line tool creates file of size 3.5MB).

I am wondering why the starting and ending values of lat, lon are different for both the files ? As I have created both the files using HYSPLIT GUI (see the attachment for options I have selected while using GUI )and HYSPLIT Commandline tool (the command I had used is ./con2asc -scmtv cdump) respectively.

Here I am pasting the snippets of the data created by Hysplit GUI and Hysplit command line tool resp.

The proper way to run con2asc through the command line will be
./con2asc -icdump -s - c -m -t -v
