WRF-ARW to ARL: No output file

Hi.

I am trying to convert this WRF file: wrfout_d03_2009-12-30_00:00:00.nc into a ARL file through the GUI menu. I enter the input file, output path and output file, and the process the data:

Processing started ...

Starting to convert: /glade/scratch/ktofte/WRF_parallel/WRFV3/test/em_real/wrfout_d03_2009-12-30_00:00:00.nc
Program directory : ../exec

Finished: /glade/scratch/ktofte/WRF_parallel/WRFV3/test/em_real/wrfout_d03_2009-12-30_00:00:00.nc

But when I then go into my working directory there is no new files. What went wrong and why is there no new files?

What is the output path you are setting in the gui?

The output path is set to: /glade/scratch/ktofte/Hysplit4/working

Please make a link of the wrf output to the working directory and run the following command:
../exec/wrf2arl -iwrfout_d03_2009-12-30_00:00:00.nc

I typed in ./../exec/arw2arl -wrfout_d03_2009-12-30_00:00:00.nc. Then I had to type in the command ls -l to actually realize that the file that was created was the ARLDATA.BIN, so it probably worked through the GUI, I just didn't know what the output file was named. So thank you very much for helping!

Yes, that is the name of the file it is created by default. However, you can change it by setting the output directory in the command line (with a -o ) :
./../exec/arw2arl -iwrfout_d03_2009-12-30_00:00:00.nc -oname-you-choose.bin
