Hello,
I am trying to run the MPI version of HYSPLIT on a Rocky 8.10 system. This version of HYSPLIT is installed on an HPC system and I submit jobs using Slurm. There are a few errors I'm getting that have been consistent across a lot of my runs and I wanted to ask if anybody has any idea why.
The first error looks something like "FATAL ERROR hymodelc: memory allocation". The times this comes up, I get the following variations:
"FATAL ERROR hymodelc: memory allocation - Particle sigma"
"ERROR hymodelc: memory allocation - Particle sigma err profile"
"FATAL ERROR hymodelc: memory allocation - Particle sigma"
The second error looks something like:
"BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES
= RANK 19 PID 3266824 RUNNING AT c313-142
= KILLED BY SIGNAL: 9 (Killed)"
Both of these errors show up in the .out file I get from the HPC system, not in any HYSPLIT output. I'm not quite sure what the first error is referring to. Am I not requesting enough resources on the HPC systems for HYSPLIT to run all the particles? This has happened when I have requested anywhere from 180 processors to 320 processors. Could it be that I'm requesting too many resources? The second error leads me to believe that the run is being terminated early. But again, my runs all say finish with a "Run Complete" message instead of "Run Terminated" ("Run Terminated" is what I would get when HYSPLIT itself had some error). My outputs from these runs also look fine. I usually run a con2stn with my cdump file and all those values look reasonable to me. So, I'm not quite sure what effect these errors are having on my run, if at all.
I've attached the relevant files here. The test_n4 file is the slurm file, and the log2476746 file is the .out file from the HPC system I ran this on. Please let me know if there is something missing!
Thank you in advance!
