HYSPLIT under Linux (Converting wrf netCDF into HYSPLIT arl format)

Post by Ahmad Hasnain »

Hi dear HYSPLIT Forum team,
I am trying to convert a wrf netCDF file into hysplit compatible file for making backward trajectories. For this purpose, I installed HYSPLIT model (GUI) in linux system (Ubuntu 20.04) under window 11. I have successfully open the GUI manu using "./hysplit.tcl" in terminal. But I got error in simulation log "permission denied" using "gdas" data randomly for making backward trajectories. Need assistance in this regard....?
Secondly, I have a wrf netCDF file which contains a lot of variables. I extracted some specific variables such as temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, wind direction etc and make a new netCDF file. How, I can convert this file into hysplit compatible file? Thank you...

regards...
