Using maptext.cfg and labels.cfg

Post by egribbin »

As mentioned in the user manual, not all information collected in the user form for the supplemental information (i.e. maptext.cfg) is used by all plotting programs. What is the reason that the HYSPLIT plotting program doesn't use all of the information (when plotting trajectories) and are there other plotting programs available that will?

Also, the labels.cfg file appears to be primarily oriented towards dispersion modeling. Is there any chance of getting a labels.cfg file that is more oriented towards trajectories?

Thanks very much!

The maptext.cfg is shared by several programs including the concentration plotting routine (concplot) and the particle display program (partplot). These programs have different parameters and so the maptext.cfg uses some of the lines for concentration, some for trajectories, and shares some lines.

Good idea on the use of labels.cfg for trajectories. We will consider that.
