I'm working in Uruguay and would like to try the model, is it set up for SouthAmerica too?

You can use the model with the GDAS meteorological dataset for Uruguay.
Also, you might want to check our mirror web page in Spain http://www.ciecem.uhu.es/hysplit/index.php
for instructions in Spanish.
