HYSPLIT Forum: hysplitbbs.arl.noaa.gov

I am trying to run HYSPLIT on my PC and I have downloaded the zip file version. I had Image Magic and GhostScript on my PC from a previous version of HYSPLIT. I tried running the older version of HYSPLIT and it didn't work, so I downloaded the new version. The old version was from 2017, I think. I unzipped the files, followed the instructions on the website and the forum, but still nothing. When I tried to run it, I got the screen that asks what application you would like to run the shortcut.

So I then tried to download just the EXE file. And when I try to run that download, I get an error message that says the installation program is corrupt. I've downloaded the exe file three times and I get the same error message.

Any thoughts on how I could download Hysplit and get it to run? I still have a back-up copy of my old version. If someone can help me get that to work, that would be great. The old version used to work and I mostly ran it from the command line. However, now, I try to run Hysplit from the exe file and the shortcut and I get asked which application I would like to use to run it. The old and new versions are in different folders on the C drive.

We updated the HYSPLIT download pages with information on how to verify the integrity of your download. If the SHA1 checksum of your download does not match the expected checksum, you might want to work with your IT department or your Internet service provider to resolve the download issue.

The HYSPLIT Graphical User Interface requires Tcl/Tk 8.5 (or later) and ImageMagick. GhostScript is no longer required as of HYSPLIT 5.2. Instructions for setting up the HYSPLIT shortcut can be found in the last paragraph under item 3 at https://www.ready.noaa.gov/documents/Tu ... l_win.html.
