Total accumulated mass

I want to calculate the total deposited mass in a month. I have output the cdump file containing the level 0 data to txt file using con2asc.exe(con2asc.exe -s -d). I have then multiplied each grid point data with the grid resolution. Is this the correct procedure? The problem I am having is, with the mentioned calculation I am getting more deposition mass than the emitted mass for some months. Kindly help.

That is correct, but did you check the units? Deposition is output as (emission mass unit)/m2. Grid resolution (CONTROL file) is degrees latitude and longitude.
