HYSPLIT Forum: hysplitbbs.arl.noaa.gov

I have tried installing Hysplit a few times on my pc but when I try to run it the window flashes and then closes immediately. I installed the supporting programs first.

I'm wondering if it is an unsupported release of Tcl/tk? The earliest I could get was 8.5.18.0 but the Hysplit site says the latest tested was 8.5.11.1. Would this be a problem? Could it be something else? All the supporting programs open and run individually.

Please try the latest version 8.6.7

I have tried that. I tried it again today and when i reinstall Hysplit after it is now asking me to choose a program to open with.

Please open a windows explorer and go to c:\hysplit4\guicode\
click on the hysplit4.tcl file.
Let me know what happens.

That is strange. You should be able to choose the tcl/tk software to open that application.

When I choose tcl/tk it flashes a black window but closes within a second
