Technical question about workstation options

Post by David Flores »

:ugeek: Hi,

my name is David Flores and actually I'm currently using the HYSPLYT model for study climatology and pollutants dispersion in the atmosphere at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí in San Luis Potosí City in Mexico.

I must buy a workstation but first i want to know if really helps use CUDA cores for obtain a better efficiency and fast process with the HYSPLIT model.

In fact, i have two options:

First option: Core i7 with GeForce and 2304 CUDA Cores. Also with a Hard Drive of 2TB, 128GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM memory.

Second option (double the price that the first): Xeon processor (8 cores), 32 GB of RAM memory, GeForce and 1536 CUDA Cores.

What do you think is my best option?, Could please guide me?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

David
