Re: Source Code for Hysplit Trajectory and Concentration Models

As described in https://www.ready.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT_linux.php, the HYSPLIT source code is available for non-commercial user only to a limited number of registered users. Our pre-compiled HYSPLIT distributions do not contain the source code.

Re: GIF Trajectory Does not Match KML

It appears that not all points in the blue trajectory are drawn. Could you post the corresponding trajectory dump file? Having the trajectory dump file will make it easier to diagnose the issue. What options did you use for the TRAJPLOT program? Which version of HYSPLIT did you use?

Re: Hysplit not opening on PC

Please open the hysplit.tcl file with wish86t.exe (for tcl/tk version 8.6) if you downloaded tcl.zip from our site. More more details on installing HYSPLIT on Windows PC, refer to https://www.ready.noaa.gov/documents/Tu ... l_win.html.

Re: Problem with cluster analysis. file INFILE

Is "TRAJ ENDPOINTS.txt" actually fwrd14_1821101821? The first line in the text file, i.e., "TRAJECTORY ENDPOINTS FILE LISTING ...", is non-compliant with the trajectory file format. Is the line you added prior to attaching the file to your post? Otherwise, lines 2 to the end look fine to me. To furt...

Re: output pdf images?

Converting HYSPLIT plots in html to pdf is a two step process. First, the splitsvg program included in the HYSPLIT distribution is employed to extract svg plots embedded in html. For example, extracting svg plots from concplot.html is done: ..\exec\splitsvg -iconcplot.html -oconcplot.svg which will ...

Re: Problem with cluster analysis. file INFILE

Per the error message, I suspect there was an issue with the content in fwrd14_1821101821. A trajectory dump file is an ASCII text file. It follows the format described in https://www.ready.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S263.htm. See if fwrd14_1821101821 has entries for Record #6 and its repetitions.

Re: Running trajectory model with volcano example

The CONTROL file you used is for a dispersion run. The hyts_std executable is for trajectory runs. Use the hycs_std executable instead. If you wanted a trajectory run, the CONTROL file should be corrected. For the description of the CONTROL file format, please refer to links under the "File Formats"...

Re: Problem with cluster analysis. file INFILE

According to the error message, the trajectory dump file, C:/hysplit/working/21fwrd21101621, does not contain trajectory endpoints. Check if the corresponding trajectory run was successful or not. Rerun it if it is necessary or drop it from the INFILE file.

HYSPLIT spatial domain

A user recently asked if the HYSPLIT model work globally.

Yes, it does. However, you will need to use HYSPLIT with meteorological data with global coverage.
