Re: PARINIT vs. EMITIMES

So when using this particle dump to start a simulation will it always be treated as a simultaneous release?

I believe the manual says when NINIT=1 the particle time stamp must match the model initialization time.

Re: PARINIT vs. EMITIMES

The SETUP.CFG needs, NINIT=1 to initialize with PARINIT and PARINF needs to point to PARINIT. Is there any other requirments in the CONTROL file when using the particle dumps? My runs doesn't seems to be reading in the particle dump and I have set ninit =1 and pinpf = 'PARINIT' in the SETUP.CFG fil...

Re: Source Term Geometry

When creating my own PARDUMP file what variables in the CONTROL and SETUP.CFG file have to match the PARDUMP files? Is it the case that the total mass of the particles has to match the total mass calculated from the CONTROL file?

Unusual Dry Deposition

Hello, I am aware that HYSPLIT should generally not be used for a single site profile but I am doing a comparison and I need to run with a single site profile. My peak deposition values I am getting are very small compared to another model I ran and they are smaller by 3 orders of magnitude. I have ...

Total Deposition

Hello,

Is there a way to convert the HYSPLIT output file into a text file showing me the total deposition accumulated over the simulation? I am interested in getting the peak deposition of the total accumulated deposition over the total run time.

Thanks

Re: Message File

Does the MESSAGE file tell the user what the particle sizes they have used are?

Hi, I am running HYSPLIT with a single-site profile for a single particle size with the intention of looking at the deposition field. I am getting values that are orders of magnitude smaller compared to another model and I wanted to make sure that I was releasing the same particle size. Where in the...

Re: Thin Plume

I am running HYSPLIT on Linux using a the srf2arl as I am using site measurement. This executable needs a Pasquil stability among other variables including wind direction, wind speed, boundary layer depth, relative humidity, surface pressure, mean sea level pressure and time.

Thin Plume

Hello, I am running Hysplit for a single site profile and I am getting, in some instances, a very thin plume that is being advected but is not growing laterally as you would think it should do due to dispersion/turbulence. I am trying to understand why and my first guess is that HYSPLIT will not int...

Single Site Profile

Hi,

I am running with a single-site met using the sfc2arl exec with a 750 boundary height. I am getting an error saying Start height in extrapolation region ... see MESSAGE 900.

What is the extrapolation region and how would I fix this issue?

Thanks
